For the pandemic our Romanian Team have kept as much of the usual activities of the Centre going we have been able – working within the guidlines – and we want to state here our thanks to them and all that they have done in order to provide for those in need.
Ovidiu: He has the unenviable job of looking after the Romanian Accounts, authorities and general administration of the work of the Centre, particularly when Peter and Lesley are not there.
Costel: Caretaker plus! He oversees the care of the buildings, garden and playground in addition to taking meals to elderly folk who can’t get out, especially in the winter. He is also a “special friend” to the 20 – 25 young men and women who grew up in the orphanage system and come to the Centre regularly for showers, a change of clothes, haircuts and something to eat or drink.
Ana: Ana is our chief cook and decides on the wonderful menus and is responsible to ensure that everything in the kitchen is in accordance with the health and hygiene regulations.
Amelia: Known as Ami she is Ana’s assistant and cake maker (delicious) but also responsible for some office work particularly the obligatory computerised stock control.
Raluca our is a Social Assistant, and works in the public office and visiting families. As well as this she leads the children’s club on a Saturday, and being a trained counsellor she will be carrying out group counselling sessions. She is currently on Maternity leave
We are really blessed with the team that we have here at the Centre. Each one has their own specific jobs and work well together as a team, and have even developed a liking for English Tea!
